The Riverside Club was formally opened on 2nd May 1970 by the then Mayor, Councillor Collins.
The premises were built to serve the older people of Melksham and the surrounding district with a facility to provide a club activity.
In the years that followed many social meetings and events have taken place. Meals on Wheels (WRVC) have used the kitchen as a base for serving the community and clubs like the Over 60’s, 55 + Seniors, Dance, Yoga and Slimming World have all used the hall with great success.
Facilities however, have improved and been modernised to provide a good venue for all age groups.
